Isolated safety with Rittal RiLine NH on-load isolators

4  July  2008

Rittal RiLine NH on-load isolators provide safe, reliable isolation protection from down-stream electrical equipment. Available either with or without fuse monitoring, the isolators range from 100 to 630 amps (60mm), sizes 000 to 3 and can be easily mounted directly onto Rittal’s range of busbar systems.

Utilising either the electronic or electromechanical fuse monitoring allows quick fault diagnostics. If a fuse blows, a signal is immediately sent to advise of the need for quick replacement without effecting plant availability. The fitting of a micro switch indicates the switching position of the isolator lid to the control desk/room. The cable outlet may also be swapped from the top to the bottom using the same device thereby cutting warehouse costs by up to 50%.

To prevent unintentional opening of the isolator lid, all designs have a screwdriver-operated lock as standard; the lock position may also be sealed with sealing wire if preferred.  A sliding window incorporated into the isolator lid contains a unique spring mechanism, which automatically closes the holes after voltage testing.
