Cheese Cellar selects Peak-Ryzex mobile warehouse solution and managed services

4  February  2014

Peak-Ryzex has won a contract with Cheese Cellar to supply and provide managed support for its mobile technology. Peak-Ryzex has supplied Intermec CN70E handheld computers, complementary technology and software to automate the company’s warehouse. The mobility solutions specialist will provide a Wi-Fi network, Zebra barcode label printers, Wavelink Avalanche mobile device management (MDM) software, training and its renowned Next Working Day Exchange service to cover rapid replacement to cover any eventuality of hardware failure.

Cheese Cellar is a long established purveyor of premium cheeses, dairy products and speciality food products. To enhance customer service within the organisation, the company decided to replace its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and introduce mobile technology with the aim of increasing operational efficiencies across the whole organisation.

The project began with the purchase of handheld devices from Peak-Ryzex to replace the paper-based system used in the company’s warehouse. In addition, Cheese Cellar decided to outsource the full management and maintenance of the handheld computers to Peak-Ryzex. This allowed Cheese Cellar to focus its resources on the ERP upgrade while Peak-Ryzex managed the mobile technology infrastructure project.

“We wanted a company that had a reputation of delivering projects and services of this type. One of the deciding factors was Peak-Ryzex’s management of the devices was not limited to a specific software or software vendor. Peak-Ryzek is able to work with our ERP vendor and there were no restrictions placed on the usability of these devices,” says Stella Coudjoe, Financial Controller, Cheese Cellar.

Cheese Cellar considered many internal factors with the introduction of the new mobile system to a warehouse that had always run on paper. However, with Peak-Ryzex providing training, Cheese Cellar will be able to move forward rapidly with the new implementation.

“We have high expectations from introducing mobile technology into our operations and this will enable us to improve the efficiency of our warehouse operation, which in turn will give our customers an even better customer service than we already provide. We also want to reduce our carbon foot print across our business by removing paper from our operational departments,” adds Stella Coudjoe.
