First UK Vision Award For Industry Announced

The UK Industrial Vision Association, a Special Interest Group of the PPMA (Processing & Packaging Manufacturing Association), is delighted to announce the establishment of the first award in the UK for innovation in industrial vision. The award will be made for the ‘Most Innovative Machine Vision Project’ and is part of the PPMA Group of Associations Industry Awards 2012.
The award is open to all vision equipment suppliers, system integrators or end users that have installed an innovative vision system in the period between January 2011 to June 2012. All parties involved will be recognised by this award. Judges will look for an application that increases productivity and will also consider aspects such as design, safety and creativity.
Entries are free and should consist of a description in less than 800 words why the application should win this award and should be supported by photographs and testimonials from users where possible. Initial submissions should be made by April 30th 2012 by e-mail (grant.collier@ppma.co.uk ) or by post to PPMA Group 2012 Awards, PPMA Ltd, 34 Stafford Road, Wallington Surrey SM6 9AA.
The Award will be shortlisted and judged by a fully independent panel of industry specialists, with the Awards Ceremony taking place in front of 400 industry leaders, press and government in Birmingham on the evening of Tuesday 25th September 2012 - the first night of the PPMA show.
